Nude – 13-01-16 (sold)

Nude – Roundism

Part of the roundism series. I had my previous drawing Nude – 03-01-16 in mind when I drew this one because I wanted to walk down that path of voluptuousness a bit further. I do not know where my Roundism path will lead to but for the moment I like big round shapes the best. In this one I kept the forms open and communicating with the surrounding negative space, creating oneness and a feel that she is quite comfy with the bed she is reclining on.

Foreshortehing

I was charmed by the foreshortening in the back and the buttocks of the woman reclining and I wanted to do a combination of straight and round planes and forms. The composition of the body forms got deformed and I quite like the abstract landscape deriving from it. It puts me on the path of depiction that not for everyone is easy to get hold of and in many occasions I do not want to serve people a easy and pretty picture. You do?
