Portrait of Princess Wilhelmina (Tribute to Thérèse Schwartze) – 23-08-24
This pastel drawing ‘Portrait of Princess Wilhelmina (Tribute to Thérèse Schwartze) – 23-08-24’ is something special. A homage to a great independant female artist.
Melina Noëlle – 17-09-22
And then the day for a planned live model session finally arrived: drawing Melina Noëlle. She is the daughter of Guinnie who is, together with her sister Gaby, responsible for the catering in Brugman art.
Model Session with Julia – 31-12-21
Last night I had a model session with Julia. Sometimes you come across a woman you immediately fall in love with.
Reclining Nude – 19-09-21
This reclining nude is completed two days after the last model session I held at my studio. Being the first drawing I completed after July’s session means last month’s drawing has not been completed yet. This one was relatively easy though.
Model Session – 28-07-21
Together with a student I had a lovely model session at the Binckhorst in The Hague. She invited me to come to her studio because she had a friend who wanted to sit for us. Actually the same sofa was used as for the previous model session.
Model Session – 16-10-20
After my sketch of Louise Brooks – 10-10-20 I wanted to do more in my hatched strokes style. Yesterday’s model session offered me the opportunity again to draw with a live model in front of my eyes.
Clairobscur – 06-10-20
In 2013 I started this clairobscur lit nude and tucked it in one of pastel maps, only to forget about it for years and years.
Sea swimming – 30-07-20
One of those days. Sold something around midnight, did my regular things like website maintenance, teaching, eating and returning to my work in progress. Bullocks! Forgot my rucksack at the shopping mall. Back again, nowhere to be found. Lost: my mind, a drawing WIP and my camera. There you have it. Second half with your soul under your arm.
Dwy galon, un dyhead – 14-07-20 (sold)
A commissioned piece. I never did a cottage, Usually it is either trees or women. It is often with commissions like these that I come to study things and structures I normally do not draw or paint.
Matthijs & Ben – 26-02-20 (sold)
This one is special. Long since they passed away only know to reappear in pastel. This one represents my uncle Ben taking care of his son Matthijs some 30 years ago.
