My latest adventure in the roundism style. I liked the overstretched arms showing beautiful curves. Those I could repeat as a sequence of curves aimed diagonally from the lower left corner to the upper right. This way a beautiful flow was created. The body itself is positioned in a vertical position and the left leg tibia in a right angle to that vertical resting position. I also tried to create rhythym by putting down strong repetative light dark contrasts in the arms and legs. The eventual aim was to balance variation and repetition of light and dark plains.
When I look at his one I can see that it leans heavy on the art deco style. Quite different from the last graphite pencil drawing ’roundism – 24-11-17 (sold)’ I think. Involuntarily I also think of Jan Toorop and the era of Jugendstil, also a favorite of mine.
