Perhaps this drawing is in line with my previous graphite pencil drawing ‘Roundism – 11-01-18’. The model’s figure is rendered with such highlighted tones as if the skin was lubed. Furthermore I decided to keep the body as abstract as possible. Only a foot, some fingers and the hair are pretty much recognizable.
In the hip I put some kind of shiny ball reflecting the body. It shines like a real or even surreal reflection though deformed by the curve of the ball. Like cats are portals to other worlds, so are these metal balls. The are so-called Baoding Balls. The Madonna of The Hague (2015) for example has a pungeant one. They allow me to have people step outside the main theme and enter another world for a while.
Nudity often leads to prudity. Especially on social media lots of people tend to refute whatever drawing or painting I will post. Strangely people think it is not necessary to create nudes. As if painting flowers or pets is born out of a dire necessity! Others think I am too explicite. In fact I hardly am and will be. Pornography and erotism don’t sell in my line of work that well. Besides that, both serve a different cause. My depictions hopefully leads to infinity. True art cancels space-time limitations. Sometimes I am provocative, that’s for sure. Mostly I am into aesthetics, celebrating the female form. In spite of all my efforts an American woman spotted a gigantic penis. That is where I intended the upper leg, leading to the metal ball. Prudity automatically leads to nudity! Needless to say you can read this section only on my website.
