This graphite pencil drawing ‘Berg en Dal – 02-05-23’ is a welcome change from 9 consecutive impressionist landscapes I made.
Some time ago I visited De Smorenhoek, a small but long meadow surrounded by wood embarkements. From Beek-Ubbergen it runs upwards to Berg en Dal.
Breaking up a forest into planes of light, darkness and cubistic forms. It’s called ‘The Valley of the Philisophers’ (Filosofendal) at Berg en Dal, near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands (Nederland).
