Golden brown – 24-08-20

cubistic nude colored pencil drawing called golden brown

The other day I bought new paper by Talens (Toned Colour Mix): a sturdy dark blue sheet perfect for colored pencil and pastel sticks. I also happened to find an old pastel stick (gold, Cretacolor 48254) that I did not use yet.

Julia – 19-11-19

Saturday 16th Novembern2019 I had Julia Gómes Avilés over as a model again. I wanted to express her dancing skills by a dynamic pose in which she holds her foot and combine it with her bodily features running off paper like natural waves.

Roundism – 06-12-17

Cubistic nude pastel drawing

I was intrigued by the compact forms of the model’s body and especially by the curve of her tibia tot he instep of her foot.

cubistic nude pastel drawing

Based on a earlier roundism graphite pencil drawing I made this pastel adding the realm of colours. I wanted the woman appear in a kind of midsummernight’s dream with lots of yellow and blues, girded with some purples and pinks.

Roundism – 24-11-17 (sold)

Cubistic nude graphite pencil drawing

A new graphite pencil drawing in the roundism series in which I experimented with deformations of body shapes with the purpose of keeping the forms as ‘open’ as possible, so all forms can breathe, flowing from one into another.

cubistic nude pastel dawing

Short positions at live model sketching took me back to reinvent my way rendering human bodies and together with my new found Pastelmat by Clairefontaine I was able to experiment with new ways.

Nude – 01-10-17

cubistic nude colored pencil drawing

A rather loose cubistic sketch done with colour pencils. For the 4th time in a row I used the same (indian) model. Her skin allows me to use a lot of yellow which I counterbalanced with edgy purple planes.
