I spent a day on the beach one time and saw a lot of things. My imagination went astray. How about yours? This drawing is to celebrate human achievements and imagination in particular. To see one thing in another is something very real, surreal and metaphysical altogether.
This graphite pencil drawing is yet another ambiguous image that I created. Please visit Gaia 16-03-16 to read about its principles. In this particular case I incorporated a gorilla and a white shark. Certainly it is hommage to mankind’s capability to see one thing in another. Maybe that is what made mankind dominant on the planet earth. We are creatures of wandering beauty, creating an endless burst of ideas and images.
The picture I used was a little weak in tonal differences. That is why I crancked up the tonal bandwidth in order to increase the drawing’s drama and diction. Funny is that only now I realize that the light parts in the wet sand serve as an arrow pointing towards the cloud-animals. Perhaps a display of subliminal intent?
