impressionistic graphite pencil drawing of a pond with swans

Clingendael – 24-04-19

Wednesday (daytime) is my ‘day off’. Teaching art class is due in the evening and I have lots of time to go outdoors now spring has arrived. Estate ‘Clingendael’ is just around the corner to where I live here in The Hague and there i saw two swans swimming by. I immediately took a picture of the couple and next I drew the pond and trees on the spot roughly. I only had to erase the swams back later. When I look at the white bridge it reminds me to Claude Monet’s pond and bridge at Giverny, France.

Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Canson Bristol paper (10.5 x 14.8 x 0.1 cm – A6 format)
