Yesterday I had famous dancer and choreographer Julia Gómez Avilés over to pose for me. She dances and teaches in Guangzhou, China and is touring now through Europe as an art model. Together with my esteemed colleague Julia Filament we took the opportunity to have her sit for us in my studio. It was wonderful to render her features impressionistically, exploiting a full range of clairobscur values and I consider it a side step from my regular cubism, roundism and surrealism.
