A 15 min. sketch I made yesterday during a live model session at Rotterdam. It was the first time I used Pastelmat by Clairefontaine. I liked it a lot. I allowed me to lay big planes of Schmincke pastel layers like I use to do on velours paper but then I was able to put some more on top in order to get rich colour flavoured patches. The model was a Cypriotic woman with amber skin hues and so I was inspired to get a rather expressionist, almost fauvist look. I even added some more layers today since I got some more suitable colours like the purples back home.
