I was attracted by the musculature of the model’s back and wanted also to map this even more by emphasizing the oblique position of the torso by means of a number of strategically placed diagonals over the entire image plane. The sheets under her body also work with this. The plane division of the negative space in the upper left part I kept very basic so the focal point keeps lingering about the body. I am not sure whether this piece is to be placed under the flag of impressionism, realism, cubism or roundism but that is not up to me.
