Roundism – 16-03-20

My Ever Changing Moods

My roundism drawing of this woman reflects my mood of this evening: reclining, relaxed and resignedly. What else can I do than to accept the current situation. By the way, how do you feel?

Since Corona has brought a new reality and forces so many countries to lock down, there is nothing much left for me but to teach some of the students that have the guts to show up and in the evenings I spend my time drawing and painting. But hey, the life of an artist always looks that way.

Riding the Waves

Roundism 10-03-20 was very dynamic and you know me, I like contrasts: both in my art works and throughout my art works. That keeps me motivated and going. Attracted as I was by the pose, I wanted to take it a step further and try to embed that kind of ease into the fabric of the scene by letting the folds of the blankets be an integral part of it.

Ogee

In the middle of the drawing there is this huge ogee or ‘line of beauty’ lingering over her thigh, straight into the bed sheets. I always like these curves and the principle behind these you can find in organic structures and nature as an integral part of their existence.
