Many an Arm too Few

Part of the roundism series although it has surrealistic elements as well. In fact I consider this one to be some kind of crossover, something I have waited for to find. Since the start of The Birth of New Cubism series I did so many cubist discoveries, resulting in a style of my own, called roundism. Since then I was all about finding perfect forms honoring the female form. My hunger for finding new ways never will be satisfied though.

Surrealistic Touch

A decade ago I started with surrealistic paintings and it was only a matter of time for surrealism to creep into my roundistic drawings. It also was born out of necessity in this particular case. While reclining in the mid-section of the drawing there would have been a whole lot of negative space to cover in black. Then all of a sudden I had this vision of a Shiva-like figure with multiple arms, beckoning to anyone who is receptive for her charms.

Personal Favorite

To me this one is one of my favorites because I like the overall abstraction, especially in the arms and the blocking in of the light by the black mass around the female figure. One day I will execute this one in oil for sure.
