Roundism (singularity) – 05-06-17

Pastel Version

This pastel drawing ‘Roundism (Singularity) – 05-06-17 is the pastel version of ‘Roundism – 01-06-17 (Sold)’. The latter was a first attempt to employ and work out the principles of singularity. By that I mean curves approaching straight lines or planes without ever touching them. Such principles are physical features offering a view on eternity and way beyond. What ties a black hole and a nude model together: artistic consciousness.

Eternity

Isn’t that what a true artist should do? We have to become shamans and show others what lies beyond the realm of phenomena. Mathematical principles that rule the universe, vest it. Therefor I often feel like a liason between the spiritual and the material word. Einstein was right, imagination supersedes intelligence. Years I spent to understand this. What this is, was. What is, this shall be. Looking and trying to understand the present is nothing more than history. When I spend time behind my easle, time disappears. That’s the artistic flow.

Color Scheme

As to color I was ready for using a different kind of color scheme this time. Most of the time I use complementary colour schemes quite frequently. This time I thought I’d use red, green and blue for a change. See how this turns out. Not sure though what to think of it now it is finished. The whole thing looks a bit elementary but that’s only logical with these sort of colors. However, it was an experiment of great value. I learnt a lot from it. My oil painting Singularity 23-12-21 turned out to become something completely different from this one. That one turned into a universal theme. Surely the final closure of this little series because I made my statement.
