Roundism – 06-07-16

Framed pointillist oil painting of a stylized nude figure in a curled, introspective pose, composed of vibrant mosaic-like brushstrokes in warm reds, oranges, and pinks. The background features cooler tones of blue, teal, and purple, creating emotional contrast and visual depth.

This oil painting ‘Roundism – 06-07-16’ is a the second one in the same series under the same name. Cubism meeting pointillism!

I was visiting Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen at Rotterdam, Netherlands together with colleague artist Julia Filament, when she saw an artistic lamp hanging from the ceiling in front of her nose.

A pastel that was lingering about in my studio for years until I completed it. I went for a strong purple / yellow contrast. It’s now with a private collector in China.

Rotterdam – Coolhaven – 02-03-16 (sold)

A rather impressionistic view on Coolhaven (part of the harbour of Rotterdam). I made this drawing inspired by a trip to Rotterdam when I passed by the Coolhaven and I lost a contact that day so I saw it quite blurry.
