5 bestialities – 19-02-19

After my last drawing ’11 bestialities – 09-02-19’ I got the hang of it and decided to do once more.
Model session – 14-02-19

Last session with my model I wanted to have her pose a little bit more risqué but counterbalance it by keeping the hatched strokes rather rough than to finepolish them into tonal matching strokes that would approach realism too much.
11 bestial qualities – 09-02-19

One thing in another. I try to see it all the time. Sometimes I fail, another time I see more clearly.
The Peace Palace in The Hague – 04-02-19

The graphite pencil drawing ‘The Peace Pace in The Hague – 04-02-19’ shows this famous building in bold cubist strokes.
Nude – 02-02-19

The object was to do a pastel drawing similar to ‘model session – 17-01-19’ but to keep the hatched strokes rather wide. I also wanted to combine more complementary colour combinations in order to get a greyish look while on the other hand those hatched strokes look very saturated up close.
Model session – 17-01-19

This pastel drawing ‘Model Session – 17-01-19’ I began last Thursday. My model beautifully arranged in an Andrew Cross composition together with the folds.
One thing in another – 05-01-19

In my egyptian series I try to excavate treasures from the past.
Cleopatra – 22-12-18

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Cleopatra – 22-12-18’ is my newest Egyptian one. Someone bathing in donkey milk could only be that very special person.
La Langue Verte – 14-12-18

I liked the triangular position of the model’s body and put her in an Egyptian scenery, thinking of my roundism style relating to hieroglyphics and Egyptian arts in general. I always liked the intense need for styling and I consider the depictions of the human body by the old Egyptians to be one of mankind’s greatest achievements.
De Koepel (The Dome) at Voorburg – 01-11-18

When I go to teach at Studio Brugman, atVoorburg I often come across The Dome (De Koepel), situated in the middle of estate ‘Vreugd en Rust’.
