The Birth of New Cubism – 12-08-14

This is a drawing of a female nude in which I find the tonality and form abstraction to be just like I wanted them to have. From this moment in time I knew what I wanted with my sort of cubism: to make a kind of mixture between cubism (being able to look at an object like a nude from different angles like Picasso and Braque intended in the 1910s) and atmospheric depth meets tonality (clairobscur).

In fact it could be called be called a kind of styled impressionism or ‘cubism light’ but I don’t mind. I just like making it and perhaps one day one art critic will come up with a suiting name for this type of artistic style. New cubism therefor is just a working title and also evolved to ’roundism’ later on.
