The Venus of The Hague – 23-07-20
Being a deep sea fish a coelacanth hardly ever come face to face with a white shark way up high but sometimes it does. If so, what would you expect to happen.

This one is a variation on a previous drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 29-05-20’ but then constructed out of basic geometric forms only: the circle, cube and triangle.
Animals kept crawling in so it was inevitable to incorporate them into these series. The first one I saw was a lioness in her thight and second the hares in her buttocs.
Next move on my Venus trail. I decided to do another surrealist one or is it? I put in some of my earlier themes like ‘singarity’, ‘the golden ratio’ and combine them with ‘the collapse of the wave function’.
A version in straight lines, quite angular was bound to appear in my mind after the (sur)realistic one. So there you have it.

Based on my previous drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 18-05-20’ I went further in abstracting body shapes after my roundism style but still referring to the play of light and dark in the original.
This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 18-05-20 (Sold)’ takes me back to model sketching. A bit of impressionism in hatched strokes.
