Triangular Shape

The lastest drawing in the roundism series. Recently I saw a picture of a model passing by posing a great triangular shape. I used this particular geometric figure and my own model (with a bob hair cut) to make a cubistic composition out of triangles, circles and rectangulars, complemented with a harmonized balance of light and darker planes, creating rhythym and diction.

Previous Drawing

Compared to the very roundish previous graphite pencil drawing ‘Roundism – 30-01-18’ this one is much angular. Of course for me and perhaps surprizingly for others I like to vary in my style. Correspondingly I consider my personal style variable of nature and let it shaped by all my thoughts and likes throughout time.

Accidentalism

The key is that I take the dominant shape of the body figure like it is and see how I can work around it. The outcome always is uncertain and as I continue to draw I make decisions based on what shapes may come and suit the atmosphere best. Here I saw the triangle of the bended leg the reason to compensate for it by a series of circular structures. As you can see in the left upper, lower left, lower right corner and in the thy, circles contrast everything vertical, horizontal and slanted straights.
