Nude – 04-10-15

Too Romantic

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Nude 04-10-15’ a full display of the principles of ambiguous image. When I saw the photo of this nude for the first time I did not know what to think of it. Personally, I do not relate to so-called romantic art of ballerinas and dancers striking great and beautiful poses. Surely too much aesthetics rendered aestetically is the pinnacle of ridiculousness in my eyes. This having stated, I was intrigued by the pose nevertheless.

Dissociation

First, I tried to dissociate myself from the picture and tried to see one thing in another. Some time ago I saw a horse’s head appearing in the female figure. Just as in that graphite pencil drawing I had great difficulty in discovering what there could be. More than only a female nude? It is like having one of those ‘earworms’ listening to an annoying song you can’t get out of your head. The same goes for looking at a nude. Hard it is to not think of the nude. However, the bonified way is to bring yourself in a relaxed mood and to squint your eyes. Pop, there it was ….: a fox!

Foxy Surrealism

To complete the drawing I drew another fox in the background. Perhaps as a subliminal guide for people to recognize the surrealism of the foxy nude in the drawing. What is a fox’s business? Yes, chasing after rabbits. Foxy ladies must be about the same thing. Can you spot them both at the same time? It said that many will be able to see only one of them.
