Batenburg – 02-08-20

Graphite pencil drawing of a tranquil riverside scene with dense trees, reflective water, and the castle ruin of Batenburg partially hidden in the background. Executed in impressionist hatched-stroke style.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Batenburg – 02-08-20’ depicts a place not far away from were I was born. A bit of beauty in impressionist hatched strokes.

The Venus of The Hague – 11-07-20

Cubistic nude graphite pencil drawing

This one is a variation on a previous drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 29-05-20’ but then constructed out of basic geometric forms only: the circle, cube and triangle.

Roundism – 27-04-20

cubistic nude graphite pencil drawing with solarisation

The next drawing in my solarized roundism series. It forms a transition from my previous abstracted cubist geometry towards a crossover to realism and surrealism. Like in previous ones I inverted some of the tonal values whereas in other parts they are kept realistic.

Clara – 24-04-20

surrealist female form graphite pencil drawing

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Clara – 25-04-20’ is a bit of solarisation. Beautiful Instagram model Clara was the inspirational source.

Roundism – 04-04-20

surrealist nude graphite pencil drawing

This is my third solarized drawing I did since a long time and represents my regular model I know for years.

Roundism – 31-03-20 (sold)

Cubist nude graphite pencil drawing

In my last drawing ‘Roundism – 29-03-20’ I employed the technique of solarisation again. It turned out to be a rather realistic one and so I decided to do another one more abstract.

Veere – 24-03-20

These unusual times cause people to search for new ways to keep their minds busy. Some told me they binge watch or take virtual tours online, others turn to books still waiting for them. As an artist I just turn to what I do best for all these years: drawing and painting.

De Hofvijver – 20-03-20

impressionist cityscape graphite pencil drawing promotion

This graphite pencil drawing ‘De Hofvijver (The Court’s Pond) -20-03-20 (Sold)’ is a bit of gloomy impressionism. A blurry homage to Seurat.
