Bettie Page – 24-02-17

Another drawing by me of Bettie Page returning to surrealism again. After scrutinizing her features and estimating what her character would have been like I came to an inescapable conclusion. Eggs, rabbits, dogs and snakes could be derived from her and were essential for her expression.
Leiden – 27-12-16 (sold)

An impressionistic view on Leiden, where I studied. I am often fascinated my reflections in water and there are so many canals to be found over there. The movement of the water is what I put as a central theme in this drawing.
Nude – 21-12-16 (sold)

Did this one for a Chinese collector who wanted to have a copy the same pastel from 2012 which he acquired as well. The Chinese are into realistic western art nowadays.
Schoonhoven – 15-12-16

I was attracted to the cubist quality of the planes that still offer a realistic / impressionistic view on a back alley in a small town called ‘Schoonhoven’, Netherlands.
Nude – 07-12-16 (sold)

A work in which I combined colour saturation with complementary colour schemes.
Sans titre – 25-10-16 (sold)

One from the series ‘sans titre’ depicting moviestars. This one is a tribute to Mary Pickford in some kind of cubistic roundish style.
Glass vase (2016)

A quick painting I made the morning before afternoon’s workshop ‘painting glass’.
Sans titre – 23-09-16

One out of the series ‘sans titre’ after the moviestar ‘Gene Tierney’ in the roundism style.
The chase – 20-09-16 (sold)

This one is based on the swimming pool full of optical illusions at Museum ‘Voorlinden’ at Wassenaar, The Netherlands.
Sans titre – 10-06-16

In my ever quest for finding styles and new ways of rendering I found myself challenged by this picture of Ingrid Bergman, famous Swedish-American moviestar and celebrity of the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and part of the 1970s.
