Cubistic treescape graphite pencil drawing

Plasmolen – 16-05-19

At Mothersday I went to the hills at Plasmolen, outside Nijmegen. Hard to understand for foreigners but the Netherlands do have them and that is the landscape I grew up in. That and the numerous polders. The latter are great to experience endless depths sometimes interrupted by a view on a church and some cows. The first – the hills – are great for an artist like me, especially on a sunny day when the cast shadows in the woods return. In the front, covered by shadows at the St. Jansberg, my mother Marijke is only just visible.
