Surrealistic still life oil painting

Greengages and lotus flower (2004)

An early surrealistic attempt. I worked on canvas board because I got a stack from my dad who kept them at our attic. So they came cheap (for free) but I did not like painting on them. They feel very coarse and for an artist still learning the tricks and the trades, it was very hard to make it happen. I guess I used too much diluted oils so the result became rather spotty.
