This graphite pencil drawing ‘Den Haag – Nassaulaan – 01-05-24’ is a bit of impressionism. For no particular reason I always associate this season with impressionist paintings and drawings of landscapes.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Den Haag – 09-02-24’ is my first one this year.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Hague Forest – 21-06-18’ is a mixture of cubism, roundism and surrealism. Danger lurking in the dark?

This graphite pencil drawing Park Hoog Oostduin – 14-09-22 follows directly after Het Sterrenbos – 12-09-22. Suddenly I found myself embracing the love for drawing trees again.

Last Saturday I came across the outer edge of the Waalsdorpervlakte. By chance I was walking down a small footpath next to the International Criminal Court at The Hague, Nethelands. Suddenly there it was, the motif I was anxiously searching for that day.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Estate ‘Reigersbergen’ – 16-05-20’ is a bit of impression, executed in my hatched strokes style.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘De Hofvijver (The Court’s Pond) -20-03-20 (Sold)’ is a bit of gloomy impressionism. A blurry homage to Seurat.

At the front my flat overlooks a great cityscape of The Hague, Netherlands, where I live. Already used as a styled (roundism) background in my oil painting ‘The Madonna of The Hague (2015)’ I decided to do a small sketch of the same view, now enriched with some extra high buildings like ‘New Babylon’ in the city centre.

When I came back from Clingendael I took my favorite way back home through ‘estate Reigersbergen’.

The Laakmolen is an ancient mill already painted by Vincent van Gogh and it is hidden from plain sight nowadays.

The graphite pencil drawing ‘The Peace Pace in The Hague – 04-02-19’ shows this famous building in bold cubist strokes.

Berlage’s kiosk (at The Hague) – 22-06-17 (sold)

Situated in the heart of The Hague (Den Haag) next to the Tweede Kamer (dutch Parliament). I wanted to break up the scene into circles, planes and triangles.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Hague – 19-03-17’ offers a cubist view on a specific bridge. It’s the one over the Hooigracht in The Hague, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands.

View at the outer side of the Inner Court (the dutch parliament) and the Court’s Pond (de Hofvijver) at The Hague, Netherlands.

Sometimes they roam about the streets of beach town Scheveningen, part of The Hague, at the North Sea.

Part of the roundism series. The Hague Forest (Haagse Bos) is around the corner from where I live.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Court’s Pond (de Hofvijver) – 26-11-15’ is all about the sparkles on the water. They shimmer like diamonds.

The central pond at the Haagse Bos (The Hague Forest). I wanted to make the reflections look convincing even though there was plenty of figurative abstraction.

I wanted to do the dutch parliament in my roundish style without loosing the characteristics of the facade and buildings.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Hague Forest (Haagse Bos) – 23-06-15’ actually depicts a place quite near. It became a bit of impressionism.
