Maassluis – 08-06-21

This graphite pencil drawing of Maassluis is an inbetween exercise. Lately I am fantasizing about combining ‘realism’ or whatever realism might mean to an artist and my personal roundism style.
De Smorenhoek – 17-12-20

Some time ago I visited De Smorenhoek, a small but long meadow surrounded by wood embarkements. From Beek-Ubbergen it runs upwards to Berg en Dal.
Puiflijk – 27-11-20

And it so happens my niece Lilian turned out to be a great photographer. Lo and behold, artistry runs deep in the veins of our family and I asked her to use a beautiful photo she took of a treeline in Puiflijk, near to where she lives.
Batenburg – 02-08-20

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Batenburg – 02-08-20’ depicts a place not far away from were I was born. A bit of beauty in impressionist hatched strokes.
Clara – 24-04-20

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Clara – 25-04-20’ is a bit of solarisation. Beautiful Instagram model Clara was the inspirational source.
Veere – 24-03-20
These unusual times cause people to search for new ways to keep their minds busy. Some told me they binge watch or take virtual tours online, others turn to books still waiting for them. As an artist I just turn to what I do best for all these years: drawing and painting.
De Hofvijver – 20-03-20

This graphite pencil drawing ‘De Hofvijver (The Court’s Pond) -20-03-20 (Sold)’ is a bit of gloomy impressionism. A blurry homage to Seurat.

Model session – 26-09-19

Model sketching time again. My mind was occupied with many other projects but live model sketching always has priority. Whereas skecthing often is called the primary process, live model sketching I consider to be primus inter pares.
Una in aliam – 01-09-19

This oil painting is based on my drawing ‘Nude – 17-06-15’. An artist often sees one thing in another. Salvador Dali saw a rhinoceros in Vermeer’s Lacemaker. I saw a horse in a women’s thigh.
