Rotterdam – Delftshaven – 31-03-17 (sold)

impressionistic cityscape graphite pencil drawing

Situated at Rotterdam, Delftshaven is the old harbour entree for the city of Delft, at the north of Rotterdam. I wanted to do a drawing full of atmosperic depth but still with a bit of cubist styling in it.

Roundism – 22-03-17

Cubistic nude graphite pencil drawing

In this one I abstracted the forms to the max. That was quite easy because the body looked almost chiseled.

Bettie Page – 16-01-17 (sold)

Cubistic nude graphite pencil drawing

With her slender body Bettie Page always has been a great model to put my project ’roundism’ on wheels. There’s not a single curve in her body that doesn’t makes me go cubistic.

Oss is a medium sized city in Noord-Bravant, Netherlands and I was in the local museum there (Jan Cunen) I had this view on Oss with the trees at the left of the drawing flowing into the clouds.

Leiden – 27-12-16 (sold)

impressionistic cityscape graphite pencil drawing

An impressionistic view on Leiden, where I studied. I am often fascinated my reflections in water and there are so many canals to be found over there. The movement of the water is what I put as a central theme in this drawing.

Schoonhoven – 15-12-16

Cubistic cityscape colored pencil drawing

I was attracted to the cubist quality of the planes that still offer a realistic / impressionistic view on a back alley in a small town called ‘Schoonhoven’, Netherlands.

Sans titre – 17-10-16

Colored pencil drawing of moviestar Mary Nolan in profile, stylized in purple and pink geometric fragments.

This colored pencil drawing ‘Sans Titre – 17-10-16’ shows a glamorous yet rather gloomy cubist portrait. It’s Mary Nolan’s, American actress and celebrity.

Voorlinden – 03-10-16

cubistic mansion colored pencil drawing

I was visiting the new established museum at estate ‘Voorlinden’ at Wassenaar, Netherlands and saw the old mansion next to the new museum building and this inspired be to combine them in a coloured pencil drawing.
