A new graphite pencil drawing in the roundism series in which I experimented with deformations of body shapes with the purpose of keeping the forms as ‘open’ as possible, so all forms can breathe, flowing from one into another.
Model session 2 @ Rotterdam – 19-11-17
Short positions at live model sketching took me back to reinvent my way rendering human bodies and together with my new found Pastelmat by Clairefontaine I was able to experiment with new ways.
Nude – 01-10-17
A rather loose cubistic sketch done with colour pencils. For the 4th time in a row I used the same (indian) model. Her skin allows me to use a lot of yellow which I counterbalanced with edgy purple planes.

A pastel version of the graphite pencil drawing ‘Roundism – 26-05-17’. I used the primary colours red, yellow and blue to honor ‘De Stijl’, a dutch art movement that celebrates its 100 birthday this year.

I always wanted to do a piece after Rembrandt’s Jeremiah lamenting Jerusalem’s destruction and I could not find a more appropiate subject than the horrific destruction of Aleppo.

A pastel variety on the previous drawing ‘Roundism – 02-05-17’ in which I tried to match the found styled forms to a colour scheme that would match them.
