One of the early paintings in a distint different cubist style I was searching for. It was my first sales on Saatchiart and my type of cubism has developed into a variety I call ’roundism’.

China Girl (2012) (sold)

This oil painting ‘China Girl (2012) is a tribute to old colonial post cards of exotic nudes. The yellow in this oil serves as the dominant factor.

Cubistic woman (2011)

A mixture between expressionism, pointillism and cubism, done by strong complementary constrasts.

Peggy (2011)

A live model that I painted at Studio Brugman, Voorburg, Netherlands. The purporse was to meet realism from an expressionistic starting point.

Cubistic woman (2010)

This oil painting ‘Cubist Woman (2010) probably is the first painting I made in this style. However, it looks more like stained glass than cubism, I think.

Lust (2007) (sold)

Not a real surrealistic painting but almost ‘alternative realism’. A woman reading the newspapers. One used condom on the floor, half a bottle of wine with two empty glasses. One cup of coffee on bed.

Sub rosa (2007) (sold)

Twice it came back to me because of the partner of the purchaser didn’t agree with the vibrator. The third time was a charm.

Foetus (2004)

I love foreshortened positions and although the model is tucked in very tightly, through application of the golden ratio and positioning the model according it, the composition worked out fine.

Nude at sea (2004)

I thought a nude simply was not enough. I added the sea later.

Grand ol’ lady (1990)

My grandmother Marie Kersten-Kuster dressed up with a hat and a scarf.
