Golden – 13-12-23
This pastel drawing ‘Golden – 13-12-23’ follows directly after my last oil painting ‘Cosmic Dance – 10-12-23’.
This pastel drawing ‘Golden – 13-12-23’ follows directly after my last oil painting ‘Cosmic Dance – 10-12-23’.
This colored pencil drawing ‘Golden Orange – 28-11-22’ is spawned by the same session as ‘Golden Shine’. Surely I had a lot of fun doing that one so why not do another?
This colored pencil drawing ‘Golden Shine – 21-11-22’ was drawn on a whim or was it?
Golden is my new project I finished just ago. I thought it was time to extend the Golden series with another oil paint. Golden – 18-05-22 was the last one and I didn’t know what forms to solarize and to style cubistically next.
This painting in the Golden Series was designed to give the spectator a most intense ‘yellow’ experience.
This pastel drawing Golden Night – 08-02-21 is based on a previous graphite pencil drawing Roundism 10-08-20. What I do is to browse through my collection of drawing and just pick one to execute in color.
This pastel drawing ‘Golden Roundism – 03-03-21’ is based on a graphite pencil drawing ‘Roundism – 03-01-16 (sold)’. After the previous pastel ‘Golden Purple – 25-02-21’ I thought it would be fun to pull a really old one out of the drawer.
This pastel drawing ‘Golden Purple – 25-02-21’ is based on a previous graphite pencil drawing ‘Roundism – 14-09-19’. The latter I always liked because of its abstract quality.
This pastel Golden Cubism – 21-02-21 is the first real cubist drawing in my Golden series. After my last pastel drawing Lakshmi – 16-02-21 I realized I only made pastels in my Roundism style. The last one in that style was ‘Golden Lilac – 07-02-21’. What if I would return to the initial form of cubism I employed back in 2014.
At last: I discovered my regular model is Lakshmi, goddess of wealth, fortune, love, beauty, joy and prosperity.
This pastel drawing Golden Lilac – 07-02-21 is based on a previous graphite pencil drawing ‘Nude – 13-01-16’. Once in a while I realize I draw in graphite more often than in pastel or oil.
This pastel is in line with my previous pastel drawing ‘Golden – 28-01-21’ but that one looks rather monochrome. Time it was to add some more colors and define relations between them. After all, that is what color is all about.
After my previous pastel drawing I decided to do a totally different one. Not in hatched strokes but smoothed out I had in mind.
This nude pastel drawing in the Golden series resembles a previous pastel ‘Nude – 02-02-19’ a bit. However, I put the stress on skin hues in order to stay in line with the purpose of the series.
In autumn 2020 I made my last drawing in the Golden series, called Golden Reality – 14-09-20. Since then I almost forgot about that series because I started drawing in graphite again after my big Frida Kahlo Project
My last drawing was slightly cubistic but today I did this realistic one, that I would like to name ‘Golden Reality’.
After my previous colored pencil drawing ‘Golden Brown – 24-08-20’ I wanted to explore the Talens Toned Color Paper futher and see what the motif of a white female model could offer me on dark blue paper.
The other day I bought new paper by Talens (Toned Colour Mix): a sturdy dark blue sheet perfect for colored pencil and pastel sticks. I also happened to find an old pastel stick (gold, Cretacolor 48254) that I did not use yet.
