Roundism – 13-01-15

Part of the roundism series. I once was in Amsterdam teaching for an international group of expats and we used an Italian model who posed for us like a still.

The sans titre series continued in 2015 in bigger dimensions (A4). This one is Ginger Rogers, american actress and starring next to Fred Astaire in fabulous dance movies in the 1930s). She is with a private collector now in the United States.

Part of the sans titre series, depicting moviestars and celebrities. This one is Jane Fonda in a slight cubistic way.

Carthaginian waiting for her hero’s return – 29-12-14

This piece stands on its own I think. Almost tainted glass-like and not really cubistic anymore, more roundism but different.

The birth of new cubism – 25-12-14

The last one I named that way. It’s a prestudy for a pastel that followed. A Tunesian girl Asma that I met on Facebook was the model.

Impression of an Amsterdam sunset – 19-12-14 (sold)

This is the pastel drawing of the prestudy I made in graphite a month before. I like the sun that sets not underneath the horizon but in a window somewhere in a cityscape.

A commission I took to render two people in an angular cubistic style, preserving realism in an impressionistic way.

Roundism – 02-12-14

The result of so many prestudies in graphite and pastels resulted in the culmination of all efforts into this oil painting. The dimension of colour gives it an extra swirl.
