Veere – 04-04-19
Last weekend I was walking through Veere at Zeeland, Netherlands, a little pittoresque town. I returned to my car when I saw the sign ‘city wall tour’ and I decided to take that one and then, when I climbed onto them, I saw this great composition that reminded me of Caravaggio’s ‘Descent from the cross’, a perfect staircase composition – triangles within one big triangle.

This oil painting ‘Cubist Nude 02 (2013) is a study after movement. Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s ‘nu descendant un escalier No 2’.
Cubistic nude 01 (2013) (sold)
One of the early paintings in a distint different cubist style I was searching for. It was my first sales on Saatchiart and my type of cubism has developed into a variety I call ’roundism’.
Chinese nude (2012) (sold)
This oil painting ‘Chinese Nude (2012) is a tribute to old colonial post cards of exotic nudes. The yellow in this oil serves as the dominant factor.
Peggy (2011)
A live model that I painted at Studio Brugman, Voorburg, Netherlands. The purporse was to meet realism from an expressionistic starting point.
