Mother Nature – 22-01-21

Mother Nature holds many secrets but let me sketch you the following. All of a sudden you spot a naked woman on her own in the middle of a forest.

Sans titre – 17-10-16 (Mary Nolan)

This colored pencil drawing ‘Sans Titre – 17-10-16’ shows a glamorous yet rather gloomy cubist portrait. It’s Mary Nolan’s, American actress and celebrity.

Rijswijk – 04-12-15

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Rijswijk- 04-12-15’ explores the interplay of straight forms and curvature as its central theme.

Nude – 11-08-15

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Nude – 11-08-15’ is based on the principles of circularity. Concentric circles draw the attention towards the figure.

The Court Pond (De Hofvijver) – 07-04-17

This graphite pencil ‘De Hofvijver – 07-04-17’ depicts a place in the Center of The Hague. I broke up the quiet atmosphere into three geometric shapes.

Strelitzia (2007)

This oil painting ‘Strelitzia (2007) depicts a flower that’s one of my favorites. Put in a granate shell my grandfather found during World War II.

Meyendel – 22-03-16

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Meyendel – 22-03-16’ is a cubist approach to a tree typical of the place. I took a deformed tree as artistic motif.

Claudia – 06-12-21

Claudia is one of my talented students and she is about to turn 60 years old. Unfortunately I cannot give it to her personally because a planned surprise party is thwarted by Corona. Some luck however. The drawing will be included in a sort of liber amoricum and at first opportunity next year the party’s on for real. Anyway, I hope she likes it.

Clairobscur – 06-10-20

In 2013 I started this clairobscur lit nude and tucked it in one of pastel maps, only to forget about it for years and years.

Marlot – 24-09-20

And now for something completely different: cows in Marlot. I wanted to change the subject for once and do a drawing similar to the horses in my drawing Laren 30-04-20.
