Marlot – 11-04-20

A graphite pencil drawing of a forest scene with a river running through it. Bare trees cast long shadows across the snowy ground, while their reflections shimmer in the water. The composition evokes early spring light and quiet stillness.

This graphite pencil drawing ‘Marlot – 11-04-20’ marks the beginning of Spring. Trees unfolding their leaves and water reflections in an impressionist style.

This depiction of Maassluis, a town near Rotterdam towards the North Sea, is somehow impressionism meets roundism.

The Ooij polder – 27-06-16 (sold)

surrealistic landscape graphite pencil drawing

A little pond situated in the Ooij Polder, Gelderland, Netherlands, near Nijmegen, caused me a lot of trouble. I saw human figures in the treeline and the water reflections but I had to come up with some subtlety so I wouldn’t attrack all the attention to the figures as well to the trees as a given realistic fact.
