Estate ‘Reigersbergen’ – 16-05-20

Impressionistic landscape graphite pencil drawing

These Corona days I wander about the region like I am used to. Nothing changed in this respect and I am more than happy that we in The Netherlands have at least some freedom of movement and that the end of our ‘intelligent lock down’ is in sight

Voorlinden – 03-05-20

impressionist treescape pastel drawing

Estate ‘Voorlinden’ at Wassenaar, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands has become my favourite park because it holds everything dear to me: a classic mansion from the 1920s, a museum of modern art with an interesting collection and last but not least a park surrounding the main buildings of equisite quality.

Marlot – 11-04-20

Impressionistic landscape graphite pencil drawing

Last year this time around Spring I started a series of small graphite pencil landscapes, one per day.

surrealistic cityscape graphite pencil drawing

This is the fifth drawing of Gouda, a beautiful city in Zuid-Holland, Netherlands, not far from where I live. It is a depiction of the Sint-Janskerk from the Market (de Markt).

Leidschendam – 01-09-18 (sold)

Cubistic cityscape graphite pencil drawing

Once I was at the roof top of a friend of mine who held an exhibition in her home at Leischendam, looking over ‘De Sluisjes’ (the locks) in the centre.

Gouda – 11-08-18

surrealistic moument graphite pencil drawing

Last week I was walking in the direction of Museum Gouda to visit the exhibition ‘From Gauguin to Toorop’ when I saw this canal adjacent to the museum, opposite to the old church of Gouda.

Nieuwe Veenmolen – 19-10-17

cubistic landscape graphite pencil drawing

A drawing of the ‘Nieuwe Veenmolen’ (MIll ‘Nieuwe Veen’) at The Hague, a place around the corner from where I live.

Maassluis – 12-09-17

cubistic harbour graphite pencil drawing

This depiction of Maassluis, a town near Rotterdam towards the North Sea, is somehow impressionism meets roundism.
